West Meridian is where the city is still growing: the subdivisions between Ten Mile Road and Black Cat, north and south of Franklin and Cherry Lane, around Ten Mile Crossing and the interchange, and out toward Linder and the Nampa line. Most of these homes are 2015 to 2024, built during the second boom by crews moving as fast as the first ones did. The shingles are better than 2005 — architectural is standard now — but the installation details often aren't: first courses not hand-sealed and lifting in the first spring wind, step flashing face-nailed and caulked, pipe boots already cracking from UV by year five, bathroom fans venting into the attic, and soffit vents blocked by insulation.
