North Meridian is the part of the city that grew fastest during the boom: the big master-planned subdivisions off Chinden, McMillan, Ustick and Linder — Paramount, Bridgetower and Bridgetower West, Bainbridge, Lochsa Falls, Spurwing, Settlers Bridge, Vienna Woods and the rest — built mostly between 2002 and 2008 by production builders working to a price. The roofs are builder-grade three-tab or light architectural shingles over felt, with box vents, no ice barrier at the eaves (Meridian's code doesn't require it) and soffit vents that were stuffed with insulation on day one. They were rated for 20 to 25 years; in this valley's sun and freeze-thaw they reach the low end, and when one house on a cul-de-sac needs a roof, its neighbors usually do too.
That's most of our north Meridian work: inspecting roofs that are 17 to 23 years old, telling the owners honestly whether they have two years or five, test-squaring after the June 27, 2026 hail, and replacing roofs properly — tear-off, ice barrier, ridge venting, new boots and flashing — under the HOA architectural rules most of these neighborhoods have. The lots are flat, the roofs are cut-up two-stories with plenty of hips and valleys, and the wind comes down the valley from the west, which is why the west-facing slopes go first.

Questions from North Meridian homeowners
My neighbors are all getting new roofs. Do I need one?
Probably soon, but not necessarily this year. Same builder, same shingle, same sun means the roofs age together, but orientation, ventilation and how many trees shade the roof all move the date. A free inspection tells you where yours is — and if it's fine, we'll say so.
Does my HOA have to approve a new roof?
For a color or material change, almost always. Most north Meridian HOAs require an architectural application with the product and color; a like-for-like replacement is usually a notification. We handle the paperwork with the job.
