Boise is a city of 253,550 people and about a dozen distinct roofing markets. The North End and East End are craftsman bungalows and Tudors from the 1900s to the 1930s under enormous elms and maples — steep pitches, dormers, brick chimneys, second and third layers, and limb damage in every windstorm. The Bench is 1940s–60s ranches with long, low roofs. West Boise and the streets off Cole, Maple Grove and Five Mile are 1970s–90s two-stories on their second roof. Southeast Boise, Bown Crossing and Harris Ranch are newer and cut-up. Do you serve Boise or just Meridian?

Both, every week. Meridian and Boise share a border and most of our crews live on one side of it or the other. Boise permits go through the city's Planning and Development Services rather than Meridian, and we pull them.

What's different about roofing in the foothills?

Snow loads are higher above the valley floor, and Boise applies wildfire (WUI) requirements to hillside lots — a Class A roof assembly and ember-resistant vents. The lots are also steep and access is harder, which shows up in the price. We build to the WUI rules and say so on the permit.

Can you replace a roof on a 1915 North End craftsman?

Yes, and we do a lot of them: multiple layers off, decking often replaced sheet by sheet (the original is 1×6 skip sheathing under cedar), new chimney flashing in metal, ice barrier at the eaves, and a heavyweight architectural or standing seam that suits the house.

How much does a roof cost in Boise?
